An overview of how to build LPNs and available LPN types.
This guidance only applies if Scalable Fulfillment Solution (SFS) functionality has been enabled for your reservation(s). For more information about SFS, reach out to your Flexe Logistics Analyst.
After picking loose goods to an MHE, use the Build LPN feature on Flexe mobile devices to prep those goods for outbound shipping and trailer loading.
LPNs on outbound goods allow for multiple levels of tracking. Information such as Lot Codes, Manufacturing and Expiry Dates can be tracked at the carton level, the pallet level or both when nested.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the different LPNs you can build and their workflows:
- Carton LPN - Loose goods converted to a carton with an LPN, for carton level tracking on outbounds.
- Pallet LPN - Loose goods converted into a standard pallet with an LPN, for pallet level tracking on outbounds.
- Nested LPN - Loose goods converted into carton LPNs, then combined into a pallet LPN, for carton and pallet level tracking on outbounds.
Note: Until inventory has been converted into an LPN, it will not show in staging locations or on a shipment’s details page.
For more information on Nested LPNs see About Nested LPNs.
