How to generate, print, and apply SSCC labels on LPN goods to prepare freight shipments for outbound trailer loading.
This guidance only applies if Scalable Fulfillment Solution (SFS) functionality has been enabled for your reservation(s). For more information about SFS, reach out to your Flexe Logistics Analyst.
Once LPNs have been built, SSCC(Serial Shipping Container Code) labels may need to be generated and printed from the Flexe web platform. The printed labels should then be applied to their corresponding LPNs.
SSCC Labels can be printed from the Flexe system and applied to cartons, pallets, or both for nested LPNs, depending on your account's need. If you are unsure which labels are needed, contact your Flexe Logistics Analyst.
Note: If your reservation does not require SSCC labels proceed to SFS Freight Trailer Loading.
Before you start
- All LPNs should be staged before generating and printing SSCC labels.
To print pallet SSCC labels in Flexe:
1. Select Shipments from the left menu.
The Shipments page shows all shipments in the system. You can use the Filter by dropdown at the top of the page to find the shipment you need to print labels for.
2. Select the Shipment ID to open the shipment details page.
3. Verify that all expected inventory is showing as staged.
If inventory staged is less than expected, go to the Waves & Batches page and check the Progress section in the batch details.
- If all inventory was picked, the remaining goods may still need to be dropped off at the outbound location to complete the pick.
- If all inventory has not been not picked, check location inventories to confirm if there is a shortage, or if picking needs to continue
Note: To learn more, go to SFS Waves & Batches.
4. Select Generate for the SSCC Labels needed.
5. Refresh the page. Once the labels are generated, select Print next to the labels needed.
Regenerating Pallet SSCC Labels
Keep in mind that if labels have already been generated, there will be a Regenerate option instead, with the previous time of generation shown below.
If you need to regenerate the labels, select Regenerate and Print. Then select Proceed to confirm.
Important Note: Do not regenerate pallet labels unless you’ve confirmed the old labels are not being used. Any labels previously printed become invalid once new labels are regenerated, so make sure to print only when you're ready to relabel all pallets.
6. Apply the SSCC labels.
Add the labels to their corresponding cartons or pallets. The LPN # on the SSCC label will match the LPN # on its carton or pallet.
Once all LPNs have been labeled they are ready for trailer loading. For more on trailer loading see SFS Freight Trailer Loading.
