Building Pallet LPNs

How to create pallet LPNs with loose goods picked to MHE or with carton LPNs to prepare freight shipments for outbound trailer loading.

This guidance only applies if Scalable Fulfillment Solution (SFS) functionality has been enabled for your reservation(s). For more information about SFS, reach out to your Flexe Logistics Analyst. 

Use this process to build pallet LPNs for loose goods on MHE or for carton LPNs if you are creating nested LPNs. For more on nested LPNs see About Nested LPNs.

If you need to build carton LPNs see Building Carton LPNs.

Note: Until they're converted, loose goods do not show in the outbound staging location or on the shipment details page in the Flexe system.

Quick Steps

Detailed Steps 

1. Select Build LPN from the home screen. 

2. Select New Pallet LPN. 

3. Scan the MHE.

Note: If you’re building a pallet with nested carton LPNs, make sure to scan the same MHE barcode used to build the carton LPNs.

4. Apply a Flexe LPN label to the MHE and scan.

Note: If you scan the wrong MHE or LPN, select the back button to the upper left, then select Yes, undo and try again.

5. Select Confirm LPN and next to continue building LPNs.

Once you scan the new LPN label, you can select Confirm LPN and Next to proceed with building additional LPNs. This takes you back to the “Scan MHE” screen; repeat the same process until all LPNs for the shipment are built. 

6. Repeat until all LPNs are created, then select Confirm LPN and quit.

Note: Once built, the LPNs and their goods show in the Flexe web platform, in both the outbound staging location and on the details page for the shipment. 

After all LPNs are built, you can proceed with generating and adding SSCC pallet labels as a next step. To learn more, go to Adding SSCC Labels.

Common Errors

Here are some common errors that can occur during the Build LPN process:  

Issue or Error	How to Troubleshoot
“Bad Location Type”	The wrong label or MHE has been scanned. Check to make sure the correct label has been scanned, or that the MHE has not already been built into an LPN.
“LPN Already Exists”	The LPN scanned already exists in the Flexe system. Check to make sure the pallet has not already been created as an LPN.
