General information on order components and how orders are created.
Here's a quick overview of the key components of an order, and how they function within the Flexe platform:
| Order | This is a request to the warehouse to allocate and move available inventory to fulfill an order. |
| Line | This is an individual SKU on an order, as well as the quantity of that SKU. Each order is made up of one or more lines. |
| Shipment | This is how ordered inventory is packaged and moves from the warehouse to a customer (or other destination). Shipments can consist of a single line, multiple lines or portions of lines. It is possible for there to be multiple shipments associated with a single order. |
How Orders Flow into Flexe
Orders flow into Flexe in the following ways:
Manual Order Creation
Create a single order using the Create New Order link on the Orders page.
CSV Import
Upload order data directly into Flexe using a CSV file from the Orders page.
API Integration & EDI Integrations
API and EDI integrations allow orders to flow automatically between your ordering system and Flexe without human interference. To learn more about integration capabilities, reach out to your Flexe Logistics Analyst or Account Manager.
