This SOP outlines the procedure for setting and managing shelf life allocation thresholds for expiry-tracked goods within our platform. Setting a shelf life threshold prevents the allocation or picking of goods approaching their expiration dates.

Setting Shelf Life Thresholds
You can set a shelf life threshold for each SKU that has expiration date tracking enabled. This threshold determines the number of days before expiration when goods will be automatically placed on hold.
- Navigate to SKU settings.
- Find the "Shelf Life Threshold" field for the specific SKU.
- Enter the desired threshold value in days. The acceptable range is 1 to 10,000 days.
Impact of Shelf Life Threshold
When inventory with an expiry date gets within the SKU-specific shelf life threshold, the inventory receives a Material Status Hold.
- Material Status Hold: This blocks the allocation, waving, or picking of goods that are put on hold. (Refer to "Material Status SOP" for further information.)
Tracking
The “Inventory on hand” dashboard has a table with columns that track shelf life date and days remaining before we hit that date.
Exceptions
While the Material Status Hold prevents further work being done against on-hold goods , there are specific exceptions:
- LPN Build and Trailer Loading: The system does not block a warehouse from building LPNs or trailer loading goods that they have already picked, even if inventory has a "Material Status Hold" due to the shelf life threshold.
