About Cycle Counting Unexpected Loose Goods
You can add loose goods found in an unexpected location during a cycle count in two ways:
- Mobile Device: Through the Cycle Count app
- Flexe UI: Through the Cycle Counts page
Both methods will prompt you to update the SKU, quantity, lot code, and expiration date (if applicable). The inventory updates in real time once you submit the count and it is reviewed and approved.
Adding Unexpected Loose Goods via Mobile Device
- Click on the Cycle Count app on the Flexe mobile device.
- Select the assigned cycle Count.
- Scan a Location on the cycle count list.
- Scan or type in the SKU barcode of the unexpected item.
- Enter the lot code and expiration date if prompted. These fields appear based on the item’s configuration.
- Click Next.
Note: The Next button remains inactive until you fill out all required fields.
- Input the total quantity for cartons or eaches by clicking Add Cartons or Add Eaches.
- Click Submit Count.
- You can now:
- Scan another SKU to continue counting at that location.
- Click Complete Location Count to finish.
The unexpected SKU will now reflect on the Cycle Counts page on the Flexe UI for review and submission. For more information on Cycle Count Reviews, refer to Reviewing & Approving Cycle Counts.
Adding Unexpected Loose Goods through the Web UI
- Navigate to the Cycle Counts page, click the Cycle Count ID associated with the location where you found unexpected loose goods.
- Click the Edit button in the upper right corner.
- At the bottom of the page, click +Add Inventory.
4. In the Select an item field, start typing the SKU. The system will auto-complete your entry with matching options. Select the correct SKU.
5. The new SKU appears in a new row. Enter the counted cartons and/or eaches.
- Click the Edit Properties button on that row.
- Add the lot code and/or the expiration date (if applicable) and click Save.
- The added SKU line will update with the quantity and additional information. You can now review and submit the cycle count. For more information on Cycle Count Reviews, refer to Reviewing & Approving Cycle Counts.
Note: When editing the cycle count to add a SKU, the Save button remains inactive until you enter all required fields for the item, including Lot Code and/or Expiration Date.
