How to complete the packing process for certain types of SKUs and shipments, including multi-package shipments, hazmat SKUs, and lot- or serial-controlled SKUs.
For certain types of SKUs and shipments, you may need to take additional or alternative steps to complete the packing process.
Start by following the initial steps:
1. Select Pack from the device home screen.
2. Scan the pack station or pick cart you're using.
3. Scan the corresponding shipping label(s), batch barcode or pick cart.
4. Scan the SKU.
Note: To learn more, go to Standard Packing or Packing with Pack-Time Label Generation (PTLG).
Once you've scanned the SKU(s) on the shipment, you may be prompted to take additional action, depending on the SKU or shipment type. Make sure to carefully follow the instructions onscreen.
Here's a quick overview of some of these alternate packing actions:
Multi-Package ShipmentsFor multi-package shipments, you're prompted to scan each of the shipping labels included in the shipment, one-at-a-time. The shipments will have the same master tracking number, but unique labels--so make sure to scan each label separately. Note: If you scan the same label twice, you'll get an "Unknown Barcode" error message. To resolve, select OK, then make sure you're scanning a different label. Once you scan all labels in the shipment, a Shipment Complete confirmation message shows onscreen. |

Serial Number Capture SKUsFor serial-controlled SKUs, you’re prompted to scan the serial number barcode. |
|
Lot-Controlled SKUsFor SKUs with lot codes, you're prompted to scan the lot code barcode. |
|
Hazmat SKUsFor Hazmat SKUs, you’re prompted to add a hazmat sticker to the box/carton for the shipment. To confirm, select Yes, I added the sticker. |
|
Sortation Center ShipmentsFor sortation center shipments, you’re prompted to add the corresponding USPS label. To confirm the label has been added, select Yes, I added the label. |
