This article will demonstrate the steps of how to add Shipment Packaging settings for cartonization using the Flexe platform.

Correct packaging dimensions are important for accuracy in selecting carrier service options and pricing. For cartonization to be effective, SKU dimensions must be accurate in the item master. Cartonization is also the first step in the pick to cart process, and must be in place before pick to cart operations can be performed.
Important Notes Before Following this Process:

If the box or packaging material is included as a SKU/Line item in a shipment, do not create packaging types as shown below.

Please ensure that the dimensions of the packaging SKU reflect the assembled dimensions of the box/packaging.
Viewing Package Types
To view the Shipping Package types that are set up in the Flexe platform:
1. Log into the Flexe platform.
2. Click on the dropdown arrow in the top left corner.
3. Select Settings.
4. Select Packagings.
Creating New Shipment Package Types
To create New Shipment Packaging:
1. Navigate to the Shipping Packages screen.
2. Select +New Shipment Package in the upper right hand corner.
3. Enter all requested information/dimensions in the pop up window.
4. Click Create Packaging in the bottom right corner to complete creation.
Edit or Delete Existing Package Types
To edit or delete existing Shipping Packaging types:
1. Navigate to the Shipping Packages screen.
2. Select the desired option at the bottom of that package type you wish to edit or delete.
3. Make the changes needed.
a. To delete:
Select the Delete option and then select Delete Packaging to complete.
b. To edit:
Select Edit to edit the box type, weight, or dimensions. Click Update Packaging to save the changes.
Note: The name and barcode cannot be edited.
Terminology
Package: A standard shipping containers that will be used for eCommerce order fulfillment
Cartonization: The ability to determine the appropriate-sized package for a shipment based on the dimensions of the SKUs contained within.
