An explanation of the handling process for shipments that do not fit in the largest available cubby
| IN THIS TOPIC |
How an Oversize Shipment is Determined
The Flexe system will check the length, width, and height of each shipment within a cart or put wall. If any of the dimensions exceed the capacity of the largest available cubby in the cart, the shipment will be sorted into a separate 'Oversize' batch.
Requirements
In order to ensure that oversize shipments are being identified correctly, the following requirements must be met:
- Accurate and complete dimensions for each SKU must be reflected in the Item Master by the shipper.
- Accurate and complete dimensions for each cubby of a cart or put wall must be set up by the Flexe Team.
Picking and Packing Oversize Shipments
After printing the batch labels, take the following steps during the Picking and Packing process:
1. Review the batch label to see if the Put Wall field is indicated with Yes or No. If you see Put Wall: No on your batch label, this means the shipment is oversize.
2. For any batches listed as Put Wall: No, you will need to follow the standard picking process using non-put wall carts.
3. The shipment will be prepared as usual a pack station. For more information on the standard packing process, review our Standard Packing article.
