How to use the Lookup Details feature on Flexe mobile devices to quickly find information about SKUs, locations, batches, shipping labels, equipment and LPNs.
| IN THIS TOPIC |
You can use the Lookup Details feature to search for items and system details on Flexe mobile devices. Lookup Details can find and show information about:
- SKUs
- Locations
- Batches
- Shipments/Shipping Labels
- LPNs
- Warehouse Equipment (MHEs)
Accessing Lookup Details
You can access the feature by selecting Lookup Details from the mobile device home screen.
You can also access Lookup Details within a number of different functions and workflows on Flexe mobile devices, including:
- Pack
- Move Items
- Rebin
- Cart Build
- Trailer Loading
- Pick Goods (currently only supported for Omnichannel-enabled reservations)
This can be helpful if you need to quickly check item or system details while you're working on a task, but don't want to lose your current progress. When you have one of these workflows open on a mobile device, a "search" icon shows in the top right of the screen which you can use to launch Lookup Details:
When you've found the information you needed, select the "back" arrow (either in the top or bottom menu) to return to what you were previously doing.
Scanning & Entering Barcodes
Once you've opened Lookup Details, the Scan to Lookup page shows onscreen. You can then scan the barcode for the item or object (SKU, LPN, location, batch, equipment, shipment) that you want to look up for additional details:
You can also use the Tap for Keyboard option to enter the barcode number manually using the onscreen keyboard. Once you've entered the barcode, select Submit.
Looking Up SKUs
Looking up SKUs can help with finding items across locations and consolidating storage.
Note: As a best practice, each SKU should have its own distinct storage location, to streamline putaway and picking.
For example, if a SKU is found outside of its storage location, you can scan it using Lookup Details to find where it should be and relocate it as needed (keeping quantity considerations in mind). Or, when goods are ready to be put away after receiving, you can use Lookup Details to verify where related SKUs are already being stored.
When you scan a SKU, Lookup Details shows all matching results onscreen. Select a SKU from the results to review all available details and properties, including:
- Eaches per carton
- Cartons per pallet
- Barcode (for both eaches and cartons)
- Shipalone status (for both eaches and cartons)
- Ship as is status (for both eaches and cartons)
- Whether the SKU requires lot code tracking
- Whether the SKU requires expiry date tracking
Use the arrow (at the top right) to hide the item properties and show a list of all locations where that SKU is stored. This view also shows the quantities at each location and each location’s category.
Note: If you select the location itself, you can view a list of all the SKUs stored there. To learn more, go to Looking Up Locations.
SKU Not Found
If you scan or enter a SKU but it is not found in any location in Flexe, a "No Matching Results" message shows at the bottom of the screen:
Looking Up Locations
Looking up locations can help with making sure inventory has been cleared from locations as needed during inbound and outbound workflows. For example, you can check inbound staging locations after receiving is complete to confirm that all items have been put away. You can also verify that pack stations are clear after all orders have been shipped for the day.
Scan the location barcode or enter the location name to view that location in the system--the location name and category will initially show on the results screen. Select the location for additional details, including SKUs/items currently stored there:
Use the arrow (at the top right) to view or hide location attributes (category and barcode). All SKUs/items stored in that location show at the bottom of the screen, with a description and current quantity:
Note: If you select a SKU/item from this screen, you can view a list of all the locations where it is stored. To learn more, go to Looking Up SKUs.
Looking Up Shipments & Batches
You can look up batches to help validate that they are fully complete prior to loading them onto a trailer.
For example, you can scan batch documents to view the current batch status in Lookup Details and confirm that everything is complete.
Note: If you need to look into a specific incomplete shipment or label, use the Flexe web platform to review the related batch from the Batches page. To learn more, go to Batching Orders.
You can also use Lookup Details to research loose or misplaced shipping labels. For example, if someone finds a label somewhere in the warehouse, and needs to confirm where it came from or if it applied to an outbound shipment, you can scan the label in Lookup Details to verify whether the associated shipment is complete. If the shipment for a loose/misplaced label is incomplete, that label should be given to a floor supervisor for additional troubleshooting.
Scan a batch barcode or shipping label (or manually enter the batch number or tracking number) to find the associated batch or shipment within the system. Keep in mind that when you scan a shipping label, the results screen will show the shipment itself as well as the related batch that shipment is from:
Select the arrow next to the batch number to view/hide the batch summary, which includes the current status, completion percentage, the number of SKUs/items and total quantity of units in the batch. A list of each SKU/item and the batch also shows at the bottom of the screen.
Note: If you select a specific shipment, you can view the item(s) in that shipment, along with the location where the item(s) are stored. To learn more, go to Looking Up Locations.
Looking Up LPNs
Looking up LPNs can help with finding information about the SKU on the LPN, including where the SKU is stored in the system.
Note: This functionality is only available for LPN-enabled reservations. A quick way to determine if your warehouse uses LPNs is to check whether pallets are labeled with Flexe-generated LPN barcodes. If you need more information, reach out to your Flexe Logistics Analyst or contact us at support@flexe.com.
Scan the LPN barcode, the select the LPN from the results page to view additional details:
Use the arrow next to the LPN number to view/hide the location details for the LPN. Information about all the SKUs on the LPN shows at the bottom of the screen, including the SKU number, description, quantity and location.
Note: If you select the SKU, you can view all other locations in the system where that SKU/item is stored. To learn more, go to Looking Up SKUs.
