⚠️ Before you start
This applies only to accounts that use Customer Specific Attributes in their Item Master setup.
About Customer Specific Attributes
Customer Specific Attributes, or CSAs, enable shippers to store additional SKU descriptors through optional and customizable fields. Below are some key details about CSAs:
- CSAs provide informational attributes for identifying item characteristics.
- They can display any attribute title the shipper selects.
- They support configuration for up to 10 customer attributes.
- CSAs can be added to existing SKUs or created for a new SKU.
- Attributes may apply only to a specific set of SKUs, which means all SKUs have CSA fields, but some fields can remain empty.
- Warehouses can view Customer Specific Attributes but cannot add or modify them.
Viewing Customer Specific Attributes
The warehouse accesses Customer Specific Attributes by navigating to Item Master, selecting the specific SKU, and viewing the attributes under SKU Details.
Using CSAs in Zones
Warehouses can use Customer Specific Attributes to establish Zones. Zones help consolidate product storage, streamlining putaway and picking workflows on Flexe mobile devices. The rules set up for CSAs guide suggested putaway locations on the mobile device. See example below on suggested Putaway location on a mobile device:
With CSAs used coupled with Zone rules, the mobile device directs users to store goods with matching attributes in designated locations or Zones. Multiple attributes can combine to define a single rule for a zone as shown below:
